Yoga: An Immersion into Stillness is a TRANŚCEND LIVE MindSTILLness experience from Vīrya, woven with Samādhi Pāda (Book 1 of the Yoga Sūtras) . This is an evening to immerse in stillness, shifting Yoga from movement on the mat to stillness in the mind.

​This immersion is designed to bridge that gap—between reading about Samādhi and resting in it.

​We use Vīrya’s TRANŚCEND LIVE format: a sound-led, group MindSTILLness (Auto Self-Transcending) journey, followed by a living transmission of the Yoga Sūtras.

​You’ll move through three phases:

​1. MindSTILLness Induction (~30 minutes, seated)

​We begin sitting upright in a TRANŚCEND LIVE session for the whole group.

​Instead of focusing, controlling, or “watching” the mind, we invite it to do nothing—to naturally release the mind's grip on thoughts, and effortlessly drift into STILLNESS.

​This is the direction of Asamprajñāta Samādhi: non-cognitive, objectless stillness where awareness is fully awake, yet free from mental modification.

​2. Samādhi Pāda Transmission (~10 minutes, lying down)

​Then you lie down and rest into Samādhi Pāda transmission: a specially created soundtrack where we’ve hand-selected key sūtras from Book 1 of the Yoga Sūtras and paired them with simple English commentary.

​The audio combines these verses with clear explanation, tying Patanjali’s teachings on samādhi, non-attachment, and the settling of the mind directly to the state of MindSTILLness you just experienced.

​3. Integration & Reflection (~10 minutes)

​We’ll touch the difference between:

  • Samādhi with an object of attention—moving from gross to subtle, to bliss, to the state of “I-am-ness”, and

  • the “MindSTILLness” Samādhi, without an object of attention, which follows repeated moments where mental activity fully ceases so that the mind is completely still and awareness remains.

​We close with space to sit, journal, and share what arose.

​❣ Optional: You may wear a biotracker (Apple Watch, Ōura, WHOOP, etc.) if you’d like to quietly observe how your body drops into deep rest, since MindSTILLness (Auto Self-Transcending) shows up as a measurable shift in heart rate and recovery.

​ ⚠️ EEG neuro-feedback will not be used in this immersion.

  • ​A shift from “doing a practice” to being done by stillness

  • ​Moments where thoughts thin out and there is just awake, contentless presence

  • ​A felt difference between:

    • managing the mind (mindfulness, technique-heavy practice like breath-work), and

    • the mind naturally quieting on its own (auto self-transcending)

  • ​A deeper, lived understanding of lines like:

    • “Yoga is the complete settling of the activity of the mind.”

    • “The "MindSTILLness" Samādhi, without an object, follows repeated experience of mental cessation.”

​It’s about recognizing the simple, unbounded wakefulness that remains when activity settles.

​Who this is for

  • ​Practitioners on a spiritual awakening path who resonate with non-dual teachings

  • ​Yogis who know the Sūtras conceptually and want to feel Samādhi Pāda in their own system

  • ​Meditators who’ve explored mindfulness, breathwork, or psychedelics and sense there’s a quieter, more effortless layer beneath all of it.

​No prior knowledge with the Sūtras or meditation is required—only sincerity and curiosity.

​How to prepare

  • ​Wear comfortable clothing; we’ll be sitting first, then lying down.

  • ​Eat lightly or come slightly fasted so the body can settle more deeply.

  • ​Bring a journal and pen for integration.

  • ​Optional: Bring your Apple Watch Ōura WHOOP if you’d like to quietly track the shift in your nervous system (no requirement to share data).
