When to Feng Shui your Space

I recently polled folks on my Instagram account asking what topic they would like for me to write about next in my blog and over 50% of the response was wanting more content on Feng Shui.

So, here we are!

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is a traditional Chinese practice that looks at arranging or creating your environment in a way that allows positive energy to flow in harmony with you and the people that occupy it.

The idea of Feng Shui is based on the idea that energy, or ‘Chi’ can influence your overall well-being and success. For me, I see Feng Shui as a tool or mechanism that can help you live in a way that feels balanced to you.

Why use Feng Shui?

For me, it is a tool that’s used to create a more harmonious life and should be considered if you're looking to improve your surroundings and enhance your well-being.

When to use Feng Shui?

1) I personally use Feng Shui to be supportive of my goals, aspiration and well-being.

When we want to create a change in our life, we have to examine ourselves AND our environment and ask the question, “What do I need to change now to be [insert the person you want to become/the thing you want to do/etc.]”

Feng Shui is a very good tool to begin analysis when it comes to environment because it can improve your mood, reduce stress, and enhance your overall quality of life.

Feng shui can also help you reach goals and aspirations. By aligning your environment with your personal goals and values, you can create a space that supports your ambitions and encourages you to reach your full potential.

2) When something feels off or there seems to be less opportunities in the past year.

Energy is not static. And the same principle applies with the energy in our home as well. What worked the year before for you may not work with you now.

Getting a trained Feng Shui consultant into your home to assess the situation can be a quicker way to troubleshoot potential problematic areas.

Or, quite simply just noticing how you’re walking around your space and be a sign. Clutter and mess quickly shifts the energy or chi of the room.

3) Wanting to harmonize with the space you occupy

Space, whether that’s home, the place we work, or the place we do business, carry a variety of historical energies. Those energy comes from the Compass Directions, the intention of the build, historical events and past interactions that occurred, etc..

And when you occupy or inhabit it, understanding the surrounding and the historical context can help you begin to weave your own energy in a more supportive way, therefore, creating something a bit more harmonious through the use of physical arrangements.

Ultimately, you are an active participant of your. By understanding and applying the principles of Feng Shui, you can create environments that support your goals, enhance well-being, and create positive energy flow in your home and workplace.
